It would be really cool to see a list of movies or tv shows an actor/actress, director, writer, producer, etc., are in, that are NOT in the local DB.
IE. I click on a movie with Bruce Willis, then I click his name to see what else he’s in that I have, but in addition to that, maybe in a new section below the main section, an output list from IMDB or some other source that tells me what other movies they are in that I maybe don’t have.
Same with “Related” and “More with” sections (maybe an option the user can enable/disable)
Interesting. Sounds like you want a “web lookup”.
Though might be hard to do or at the least, limited due to client hardships which may put more stress on the server host.
Perhaps the data can be downloaded during the original metadata pull for the asset, and then run periodically at night or monthly schedule to update any missing or added data. I am not familiar with how that metadata is stored and accessed by Plex initially to know if that other data is even available or not in that same manner.
Would that be available through Tags? In other words, put the actor’s name as one of the tags and then wouldn’t Plex find other movies so tagged and list them as “Related”?
