Most recent update seems to cause SQLite database problems?

I recently updated (yesterday) and last night and today had lots of problems with playback becoming jittery with video – audio seemed fine, the only thing in my logs when this starts happening is a crap ton of:

Sqlite3: Sleeping for 200ms to retry busy DB.

Restarting plex would temporarily alleviate the problem – I tried verifying the database and even dumping it and reimporting it per suggestions on “fixing database problems” i found in another post… no change in behavior from any of that…

In a last ditch effort, I downloaded the latest non plex-pass release and reinstalled it… so far, the problem has not re-presented itself…

Anyone else ran into similar problems?

It is also not a resource issue… the server has 24 cores, 96GB ram and 5Tb out of 14Tb free on the RAID array…

Thanks in advance!

holy hell 24 cores and 96GB of ram /drool lol

As for Sleeping for 200ms to retry busy DB.
I have also noticed this with the last version, only a couple times though when it is doing a library scan (i use the command line). I honestly didnt think much of it though because media plays fine and honestly just figured it was something trying to read/write to the db while it was already open…

It would be great if you could; capture logs with a working installation and then reinstall the latest and capture logs again in a faulty setup, otherwise the dev’s will have a hard time pinpointing it. Please also state which version seems to have fixed it as the latest isn’t Plex pass only (1.3.2 is public).

Hmmm currently I am on Version 1.3.2.3112 – and you are correct – perhaps I got stuck on a corrupt install or something… I suppose once I can reproduce the problem I will collect the logs and try and find the differences. I have no way of verifying what version i replaced last night (didn’t think to check the number)

Well that didnt take long, however forgot to save after enabling debug logging so hopefully I’ll have logs tomorrow that will be relevant.

Thanks for helping out, much appreciated.

Logs from Ubuntu 16.04 (latest updates and kernel) from Plex 1.3.2.3112

This has at least a large # of of the Db lock errors already – have yet to see the video jitter problem but hopefully tomorrow we’ll get to watch a few more shows (it seemed to happen after a few consecutive shows)

I would start with optimizing the database -

If that doesn’t help I’d do a repair of the database -

https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201100678-Repair-a-Corrupt-Database

If that doesn’t help either you should have a backup of your database (due to Plex pass and the butler feature), hopefully one of the backed up DB’s are OK -
