Move metadata / library to SSD on MAC?

Dear all,

My library has become very big over time (400 gb), so I bought a blazing fast external Thunderbolt 3 SSD to run my Plex Server from.

I have been searching everywhere, but cannot find the exact answer. On youtube, there is mentioning of editing the path were the metadata is stored (in general options -> Advanced), but that is probably to longer possible in the latest version of plex server (?)

So far:

  • I have made a backup of the metadata / library
  • Made a copy of the metadata / library onto the new SSD.

BUT how can I point plex to use the new location on my SSD, instead of the regular one?
Note: NOT looking to move the content which I have on my NASses. !

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Arnout

Server Version#: 1.13.5.5332

You could move all the contents of the Library folder to the new location, delete the old Library folder and place a filesystem symbolic link (symlink) in its place, pointing to the new location.
