MovieFan's Database Tool for Plex

For the record, I moved a few movies off each drive to assure space and all went well.   -   Did have some items that did not get created, even though the log file says they did.  When run multiple times, all items that already existed were skipped, and logged as such, but the items that did not get created still did not get created and the log file continually says they did each time.

Odd.

Thanks for the report. I will look into it some more. I know of 1 bug, not sure if it is the cause for your issue. I’m working on a new version that does this a little differently so maybe that will fix the issue. It may be a little while before i get the next release out. I was running into a problem where every new feature i want to add was going into the library script which to me did not make sense with the way i wanted to organize the feature, so i am rewriting the script and reorganizing everything. This will make it much easier for me to add more features in the future, and i have a couple of good ones i will be adding when i release this new version.

Hi I’ve gone through the steps and I get the. Menu screen yet when I click on any of the options nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Did you right click on the mortscript.exe file and run as administrator?

Yeah sorry I was just about to come and edit my post it’s working now

I do have another question.

Because you can’t set an managed user on an iPhone or iPad ive had to set up a new plex user and link it as a friend. This plex user phairfamily is restricted to allow my young son to use it

Is it possible to have he’s watched list added to the main account.

If so is it Possible to have this run on a time event like task schedule. The reason is my wife watchers her programs on the same ipad and it would be good to mark them as watched on the main account.

I hope this makes sense

Right now the copying watched status is a one-time event.  I do have plans to add a feature to link an account so that when something is watched for that account, the watched status is also carried over to a second account.  I have not implemented this yet as I have not tested further on if this causes problems elsewhere.  But yes, it is possible and hopefully I will have it included in a future update.  I will also be adding a feature to combine watched status from multiple accounts.  When i am ready with the next update, there will be quite a number of new features and expansions of certain existing ones.

Looking forward to this.

When are you going to put a "Donate" link somewhere?

[Finally got around to putting a "Like" on the first post]

I’ve never used a donate link. I don’t claim any expertise in anything I do. I do it for the fun of it. If people gave me money they would expect stuff and I’d rather not go that route. This way i can do stuff my way.

Understood... and respected.

But keep in mind that some people like to make donations... for the fun of it.

I wish you well.

I commend people who do.  If you'd like to make a donation, buy a homeless person a meal.  Then everyone wins.

the multiple accounts part, would it be able to add the watched status from multiple account to 1 account and visa versa?

this would mean I could restrict my devices and my wife's but be able to pick up a series where we left off on either. I.E

My son loves "Shaun the Sheep" there are 120 eps having something that would mark an ep has watched from either device (sep account, because of the IOS limitation) and have it linked to the main TV account (and back again) would be awesome sauce as it will stop my son telling me "No daddy I've watched that one" :)

The trick I found is an automatic update that would occur but it would just be 1 way.  So you can link from your son to you, and your wife to you, when when either your wife or son's account watch, they show up watched for you.  I have not found a way to make it go backwards as well as that would result in an endless loop of updating each other.  I will keep digging if I can find a way to do a 2-way sync, but as of now, I cannot think of a way to do it.

Well it’ll be more than I currently have so I would very much appreciate it.

This is going to sound crazy...but here goes...

I tried importing a playlist called "Kids.m3u".  The playlist said it imported, but was listed with no items.  I renamed it to "Kids Music.m3u" and the same file imported with no issues.  Deleted and named it back to "Kids.m3u" and the import failed again.  Is there something in the name of the m3u file that cause bizarre issues like that?

Also, is there a way to import a folder of m3u files rather than picking them one by one?  Just wondering.

Thanks for this awesome tool!

I wonder if I messed up the code to account for the space.  Try replacing the space with a dash or underscore and see what happens.  I'll make sure it is fixed in the next version if that is the problem.

Added to my to do list.  Thanks for the suggestion.

The name with the space works fine, it's the name without the space that doesn't for some reason.  I tried another one called "Christmas.m3u" and that failed.   "Christmas Music.m3u" worked.

Hmm. Very odd. That is something i would not expect. I’ll look into the code and see if i can find the problem.

Can you turn on debugging ode and try again with the single word file?  This should create several playlist_import files with various extensions.  Please upload all these files to me.

Sorry for the late reply, attached are the result files from trying to import a playlist called "Cheer.m3u" which has two songs in it.  The playlist shows up but with nothing in it.
