It would be very convenient to be able to filter music tracks by track artist as the artist title filter is not in-depth enough. Thank you.
Bumping this. Use-case is for creating a favorites playlist for an artist. Some of those tracks may be on a soundtrack or a “various artists” record. The album artist is set to “Soundtrack” or “Various Artists” while the track artist is set to the performer.

The official Plex clients can’t do it, but 3rd party iOS app Prism has made this possible in the latest beta (v2.1).
Would love to have the option to sort by Artist or Album Artist, whichever by simply selecting which one I want to view.
Right now Artists are not searchable if they are in any type of compilation album that uses a different tag other than the Artist’s name in the Album Artist field.
Both Desktop and the Pleaxamp mobile have the ability to filter the library several ways but not by actual Artist.
I’d like to be able see all Artists and click on an artist’s name and see every album and every track by that artist.
