I’ve just started using Plex on iOS for music, and am confused about a couple of UI issues. Hopefully there are settings I have missed.
If I turn a Library Into List View and see my list of artists, when I touch an artist, the list of albums for that artist goes back to thumbnail view, and there is no view mode control to change this. If I touch an album, the tracks show as a list, as expected. If I want all list view all the time, I need to view the library by Album, not Artist.
If I view the tracks in an album in list view, there is no apparent way to see star ratings or which tracks are in progress. To see a star rating you have to begin playing a track and touch the “…” menu.
That apparently makes it impractical to resume playing a track last used on another client, even if you remember which album to check. It also makes it impractical to pick a track to play by rating.
(I can’t even find a way to search by star rating in any app, but at least we can see the stars on the web app.)
What am I missing? Or is this just how it is?
My use case is listening to various podcasts and radio shows, which I’d like to rate as I go, so seeing ratings without digging is important. And since the tracks are long and I may change client, showing in-progress plays is also really helpful.
