Music 'Style' showing up on music pages now

Hey guys,

I’ve noticed that ‘Style’ shows up under bands/artists pages as well as albums now.

Why is this? Is there a way to turn it off? I add all my own metadata and have just the ‘Genre’ tagged and do not wish to see ‘Style’ as well, makes it look overly complicated.

They are from our metadata provider. There is not any setting to not have them. I suppose if your library agent was Personal Media Artist rather than Plex Music.

You can manually remove the style tags from each artist and lock the field but there is not a way to bulk remove tags.

Hey BigWheel,

Thanks for the reply.

Are you saying that if my library agent is Personal Media Artist, instead of Plex Music it would not show?

If that’s not the case, what are my options? Other than manually remove and lock like you said before.

Are you guys planning on having an option to turn this off? I think options and flexibility are key.

I can only suggest you make a feature suggestion https://forums.plex.tv/c/general/feature-suggestions/8 I’ll bring it up to folks but can’t make any promises

It shouldn’t. You can make a new library with that agent and point it at the same music folders to check that it will do what you want it to.

I tried changing the agent, but didn’t make any difference.

Anyway, I’ve put a suggestion in as recommended.

Thanks for your help.

lol some of those “styles” for Pantera are ridiculous.

I also noticed this recently and have a lot of metal … I don’t understand it at all, I don’t need more text in my UI, esp if its this bad/irrelevant.
