the Synology server I bought 6 months ago the DS1618+ I had no idea on my new to me plex setup about how plex uses transcoding for my movies and tv shows. I just started getting 4k movies and I get that the server not powerful to play the content and I was pretty disappointed that I have a problem with my setup. Now I looking for another nas to buy and sell my old server if that is what required to fix the problem; I live on ssi so I have very limited income so here what trying to do with this thread find a 4-6 bay server I prefer 6 bays so let post this get some help and info. Also I seen I can recode anything my nas wont be able to handle I seen that some 1080p content wont play without a recode as well but all the 720p stuff plays fine
