My plex media server goes offline every hour - the plugins folder for media server is empty…

I cannot use this - every time we watch a movie the crappy media server -just disappears and we have to re-start the computer and then it happens again an hour later…

Why is this BS happening to me…and how do I get this fixed???

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!

Have upgraded restarted tons of times…The thing just does not work! What can I do?

What do you mean by going offline? Does pms become unreachable remotely, unreachable locally, crash, unresponsive?

Is your server probably going to sleep?
What kind of hardware are you running it on?
It this maybe a small form factor PC or even a laptop?

Verify you have the checkbox ticked
‘Support Away Mode when preventing system sleep (Vista and above)’
under Settings - Server - General - ‘Show Advanced’

Also check if you have any special energy saving / green feature apps running on your system which force the machine into standby/hibernation if mouse or keyboard are not used for ~1 hr.

Check the general power saving settings of Windows in the control panel.
Disable power saving on the ethernet adapter:

crashes and does not stay online…when I click the icon in the bottom right corner it disappears! The whole media server thing just stopped working!

Read that for finding crash logs. Post that and the server log.
