My Plex Server running on Synology NAS service keeps stopping

Hi Guys,

New to this forum and a happy Plex user for several years although have run into a problem now.

Recently, on a daily basis the Plex Server Service on my Synology NAS drive stops running by itself. I turn it back on and then everything works fine but then the next day I have to do the same thing as the service has stopped again. Seems to happen overnight perhaps when some of the automated jobs run but this has started occurring without me messing around at all. I have auto update to the latest software and Synology DSM shows no new updates to the Plex server software or DSM software itself.

Any idea as to what may be causing this or how I can rectify ?

Thank you.

Sorry read the guide here is some of the info I could find.

  1. NAS Model you have - DS415+
  2. DSM Version installed - DSM 6.2.3 25426 Update 2
  3. PMS version - 1.18.5.2309-f5213a238

Hey, thank you for the response. I will tackle those remediation actions you listed.

Just curious I’ve never had any issues before and haven’t changed anything apart from auto updating latest versions of software (DSM and Plex). Any reasons as to why there may be issues now after so long ?

Also I noticed that it is around 02:00 AM the Plex Server stops running every night. If I restart it it works fine until around 02:00 AM again.

Thanks for your help.

Hiya,

I bonded the two LAN ports as advised and also updated manually to the latest version of DSM Server. All working for now but will feedback once overnight to see if the problem still persists.

Thanks for your help so far.
