Not running directly off my SAN but I am running CentOS as the PMS, bind (DNS) and Plexconnect. CentOS is hosted on a ESXi server with direct access to a HP SAN
Device and model number ESXi 5.1 on HP Proliant 360 G7 with HP 3par F200
OS/firmware (include version number) CentOS 6.4
Any build to order options e.g. where there is a choice of CPU N/A
Is this Build capable of transcoding? Yes
Is this Build capable of direct streaming? Yes
Anything special you had to do to get it running (e.g. change web management port) Installed Python 2.7 and also used Bind for DNS
Any error messages (only after troubleshooting the issue in another thread) None.
Also worked for my friend who VPN-in to the firewall we tested it by having his ATV3 point to my DNS server and he was able to use it.
My ATV3 is running the current 5.4 Beta 1 (iOS7) and I haven't had any issues.
Niece info, just be aware that currently you may find that only one ATV can be used at once.
Just wanted to let you guys know its running fine on Openelec build 3.0.2.
Great job :), i now have Plex media server running within openelec, then serving the content out to my apple tv 3 via plex connect, also running on the same openelec machine...AWESOME!
We bypassed that issue by creating a clone VM of the system :D
So you have multiple instances of PlexConnect running, with GDM disabled and the IP's hardcoded on each?
There have been code changes recently that reports have shown allow multiple ATV's to now work using the standard setup (1 PlexConnect running), do you want to try and report back?
Any error messages (only after troubleshooting the issue in another thread), Yes, but they were resolved by the above guide. Works perfectly now, I love it!
