@nibbles Soooo after downgrading to Monty and installing everything I needed. I get I’m not authorized now following your steps.
After this step is when I get the error Not matter how many times I reload and enter my pin I get this now. At least it’s new error, but now I’m getting an error.
Regardless thank you for your assistance with this. It doesn’t make any sense, but yet here we are. @anon18523487 is there anything else I can do to get the server up and running? Does anyone else have any suggestions that I can try. Again thank 1 and all for your assistance.
Sorry it didn’t work. Guess what? There’s a new beta
You can see if that one works which has a patch for MacOS.
Your error - not authorized in Safari after entering the correct PIN.
If the new beta fails the same way or in another way, MovieFan.Plex will want to see the logs. To get them, quit out of Plex Media Server and open a Terminal. Paste in this code, and hit Return.
cd ~/Downloads && zip -rj "Plex Media Server Logs-$(date '+%Y-%m-%d_%H-%M-%S')" ~/Library/Logs/"Plex Media Server"
It will create a zip of the Logs in your Downloads directory. Please drop the zip into your reply. If you’re shy, you can DM it to MovieFan.Plex.
I tried to install PMS on my Ventura x64 MacBook Pro. It worked really well.
I might install Ventura on a Studio external drive and test.
Bro @nibbles sayword, I mean this is awesome. I was out and just got back. Gonna fire this up and see how it works. I will report shortly. Crossing my fingas and toes!
Good looking, and once again thanks so mucho.
@nibbles
First and foremost, thank you. We are up and running! Got it working on macOS Monty without any issue. Once I knew that was working, I decided to roll the dice and upgrade to macOS Ventura. Guess what? Everything is a working as expected.
I can say that this beta works for both macOS Monty and macOS Ventura without any issues. I was able to move my data over and it lit-up like a Christmas tree. All metadata, play history was all there. I swear a tear almost came out, or it could’ve been the smell of the leftovers maybe. Who knows, but it was joyful indeed.
It took me a while to report back as late last night I N&P™ [nuke’d & paved} my Unifi network. I had to rule everything out. Sure it took time for me to get all my settings, vLans, & reservations back together. However I need to rule out my UDMPro SE. In the end it wasn’t Unifi, this time.
Once I got the basics down, installed the beta & update to macOS Ventura. We are finally good to go. I dunno what the previous installs were doing or not doing. But this beta is may, muy bueno!
I still have my work ahead of me re-do my network. But at least now my friends & family can enjoy Plex once again. This was a ruff dos dias trying to troubleshoot this.
@anon18523487 bro whoever cut the nuevo beta, they hit it right on the nail! Thanks for listening and asking me questions. In the end they helped out and we got a working resolution. If I may make a suggestion:
I’m all for security, 151% down with it. However making a change like this during the holiday season may have not been a good choice. During this time I can’t the only one upgrading to a new[er] faster server/device. Next time something like this comes up, can we roll it out on January 2nd. I’m just saying is all, food for thought. Left overs here I come!
Again, I love this community! When an old time [power] user like myself. Runs into issues, you all have stepped up and made great recommendation as solutions. I also hope that I’ve helped out fellow members in the past as well.

Having a lot of trouble with Plex server.
Started with “Settings not available”. I came upon this Forum posting after many hours of trying to fix the problem without realising there might have been a server software issue.
Tried so much.
Followed the mac steps in this article a few times. https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/
Uninstalled PMS ver 1.29.2
Installed PMS ver 1.30.0, uninstalled, reinstalled
Changed password
Tried to remove devices
Installed Mojave over existing system (MacMini7,1)
upgraded Safari to ver 14.1.2
Tried to get past “Something went wrong. Make sure the server is available and try again” by opening “setup plex.xxxx” on another mac.
A one stage could see multiple TV Mac Mini servers with crosses. Deleted those three.
Turned off wifi to reduce ip address. Could have busted certificate.
Don’t know what next to try.
The “Settings not available” is a known issue we are investigating. Not sure what’s causing it yet. See Server settings are unavailable after last update. MacOS - #74 by Umpi for more info.
I’m not the brightest bulb when it comes to Plex stuff but if I see server not claimed stuff, will clicking on the button to claim this server not work? Do I need to more?
If you see the button to claim the server, then this thread does not apply to you.
Thanks. Followed the other thread.
After installing ver 1.29.0 from backup Plex server is working again.
Opsie and thanks
Exact same issue as bfactor. Media is available, but settings are “unavailable”. Older Mac Pro running Mojave. This system has been flawless for Plex server in the past.
Try the procedure at the link above.
Good Luck!
Chris
I just had a recurrence of this issue with 1.29.0.6244 installed on Mojave.
I had not made any changes to the install, the only factor was a change of external (ISP provided) IP address.
I followed the instructions in Server settings are unavailable after last update. MacOS - #50 by nibbles
That thread has now been closed. The Plex staff member posted a notification that the issue has been resolved in version 1.30.0.xxxx
It appeared to work, I had access to my server settings on 1.29.0.6244. So I upgraded to the latest version (1.30.0.xxxx) which included the update notes about fixing the issue.
I have lost access to my server again. This is getting infuriating, hopefully following the instructions one more time will resolve the issue permanently.
I’ve just gotten a Macboo Pro M2 and am having problems claiming my server that has been running for years. I get the “Claim Server” button but it spins for a minute and stops, and the server has NOT been claimed. When I used the alternative Terminal commands to store a new token, I’m told that 127.0.0.1:32400 timed out and could not connect to server. Been working on this for a few days and had no luck.
Did you try the “Open Plex” button from the tray?
Yes. It behaves exactly as the web app. “Something went wrong. Please install manually.” It doesn’t like the Plex Media Server. But reinstalling accomplished nothing. I’ve even tried rolling back to earlier versions.
Ok grab the server logs manually for me.
Wait a minute. You got these logs through Plex Web. I thought you couldn’t access your server?
