New server time?

I am currently using an intel nuc i3 celeron as my server and for the most part it run fine… But I need to be ready for the next iteration of files and hdr and all that.

I want to use an actual server. Tons of ram, plenty of CPU overhead.

What kind of equipment should I be looking for? I currently have 20tb of external storage attached and will likely be adding another 10 in the next year or two.

Is CPU decoding/transcoding good enough to do all this or am I looking at just building a pc?

What is the full CPU model in the NUC? i3-8100? Celeron J3455?

Projected number of concurrent streams?

Projected number of concurrent transcodes?

Need to transcode/tonemap 4K HDR media?

Is external storage a NAS, bunch of USB drives, etc?

Open to running Plex on Linux instead of Windows?

Someone here asking the same question. I posted some links there for NAS solutions if your looking for that option.
