New WD My Book Ext HDD

Hello,

I noticed that WD just added a new version of their “My Book” external USB 3.0 HDD. I’m not very good on knowing what makes a good hard drive for Plex (trying to learn and understand but I get confused on the fact that I was told some drives are made to only be a “data dump” that’s accessed only occasionally whereas other drives can handle the frequent access that Plex requires.).

You can see the drive here: https://www.wdc.com/products/external-storage/my-book-new.html#WDBBGB0060HBK-NESN

Could anyone confirm if this should be a decent option with Plex? The other option I’m looking at is the new Seagate Backup Plus Hub (http://www.costco.com/.product.100301427.html). I’m kind of leery to go with Seagate having had two of their 3gb drives fail just barely after their two year warranty and within a week of each other. Which would you recommend? I just want to make a decent investment and have it work well with Plex.

Thanks so much in advance!
Rae
