No Playlists on Xbox One - Can't Create, Edit, or Play any Playlists for Workouts - an Other Videos category

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: 2.25.2.70

I searched the forums and I’m not the only person having issues with Playlists on XB1.

I cannot see, edit, or create playlists on XB1 for videos in an Other Videos category.

Use Case: Mark Lauren’s workouts tend to use a shared warmup and cooldown so I only rip them once and use playlists to put the full workout together.

Expected Behavior: I expected to be able to view the playlists I created via the Web Player on my Xbox. Barring that, I expected to be able to create new playlists on the Xbox.

Actual Behavior: No playlist view on the homepage. No playlist on the Videos page, just the workouts videos. Under the hood Plex categorizes them as Movies so I checked the Movies page, no playlists. I attempted to recreate the Playlists on XB1 in case they are localized to the player and there are no options to Add to Playlist via the XB1 player.

Workaround: Rip workouts as a TV Shows library and treat each workout as a season and duplicate the shared files (e.g., Mobility Rx/Season 1/Mobility Rx - s01e01 - Warmup.mp4, s01e02 - Workout.mp4, s01e03 - Cooldown.mp4). This is not ideal due to space usage.

Even though I have a workaround in my case, the lack of playlist support on XB1 is a severe hindrance.

Same here. I can see the playlists - but you have to back out of the individual movie libraries and see the whole movie section. If you scroll down from the “recently added” and all that jazz, there is a tiny section of buttons “Collections”, “Playlists” etc. and that’s the only place you can find it.

However, I can’t edit or add to either collections or playlists, within their own sections or from the movies/shows themselves. Drives me up a wall. I should be able to hit the select button on the movie screen and “add to playlist”, or within the movie on the “…” one of the options besides “select subtitles”, or “go to movies” should be “add to playlist”!!!
