No surround sound in specific conditions with Fire Stick [mod: multi-channel music]

Player Version#: 9.12.2.36964 (Fire Stick 4K MAX)

I have surround music in my server from several sources (5.1 FLAC from DVD-Audio, DTS from DTS-CD, Dolby Digital Plus encoded files).
When using the Fire Stick I can get 5.1 from the movies, but the player seems to mix down to stereo when it’s just music.
Plex for Windows plays 5.1 on the same files. If I recall correcly Plexamp on windows did too.

Plex does not support multi-channel music on Android / Android TV clients.
