Non-unique username?

Is it possible to have a non-unique username? I am trying to spin off my managed users to home users with their own login email. However, while I could use my own (common) name as a managed user, all other accounts need to have a GLOBALLY UNIQUE username. While I don’t mind creating globally unique usernames, I rather don’t want to have to change “Mom” “Dad” and “MY_NAME” to something globally unique that isn’t ugly looking.

What I mean, is can you set up the server so that the name displayed on the “Swap user” menu isn’t the globally unique username, but is a more simple account-unique display name?

You’ll need a unique account name – but each user can assign themselves a nick name (Settings > AccountUsername vs. Full Name).

Fantastic. Once you set a “Full name” (which I didn’t), that is what ends up displayed on the switch user screen. Unfortunately, the ugly username shows up underneath (where “Managed User” shows up for managed users), but at least the bigger name is the simpler one.
