I have created a guide on this here in forums
And you dont have to go and convert you big big movies but just go on google and get the sample files for dolby.
I wasnāt looking to downgrade my UHD to 1080P with DV and what-not intact. I am just trying to figure out why Dolby Vision does not trigger or whatever it is called to work when I play the MKV file on the PLEX app from my Nvidia Shield Pro. or is this using the same thing and not downgrading to 1080p. Even more importantā¦is this the only way for DV to work? Sorry, for not understanding these things yet, but I would hate to try and do all this conversion or what-not, when it could just be another setting that I have wrong somewhere. Should I try another UHD disc and see if it does the same thing as Aquaman UHD?

I have tried the ones from Dolby. They still show just regular HDR and DV does not show.
Then its best you approach another forum which is more channeled towards shield tv
Well, it is something related to PLEX, so here would be the obvious solutions to have, compared to a Shield one, that may not have any experience with PLEX troubleshooting. It could be my shield, but it can also be PLEX. Thatās why I am troubleshooting here, because I am trying to find out what to do. If I talk with Shield forums, they could also say, talk to PLEX and around in circles I go, which is what I am trying to avoid. I imagine, I cannot be the only one that is trying to get this to work.
Just ask there about this
Also give em details about your setup like TV AVR and others equipments

āI have just played a test file of Dolby Vision, using local player of Nvidia Shield, the TV fallsback to HDR metadata, how to tell Shield TV Pro to make use of the Dolby Vision metadata, which at time might contain FEL/MEL data as well with profile of 7. How do yall play Dolby Vision files locally on your Shield TVsā
Ask the above there., you dont have to mention plex

OK, when I play the movies, I think I am getting Dolby Vision. Hereās the image when I press the info button on my receiver.
Now I guess I have Dolby Vision, but isnāt DV supposed to be 12 bits? That and I thought it was supposed to say DoVi in PLEX. Does this matter or is this just how PLEX shows Dolby Vision? Does anyone else have the same thing? I talked with Nvidia support and made questions at the forums as well, just in case I need to troubleshoot more.
