I have a windows server running Plex with an Intel 10700 and an Nvidia Tesla P4 that I use for transcoding. This setup has worked great for about a year, but after updating to PMS version 1.32.5.7328 the Nvidia card is no longer being utilized. HW transcoding still works on Intel UHD 630 and CPU transcoding works. When I queue up an HDR movie and set the resolution below original, the server fails over to CPU transcoding instead of using the Nvidia card like it used to. In the “Hardware transcoding device” dropdown the two options I have are “Auto” and “Intel UHD Graphics 630”, the nvidia card isn’t listed. Any ideas on how to fix this issue?
Have you gotten this to work on any of the latest Plex versions? I’m setting up a new Plex install with a Tesla P4 but haven’t gotten it to work either. My configuration is different but everything is setup correctly from what I can determine. I’m running an Ubuntu server VM with gpu passthrough and Plex in a Portainer-managed Docker container. I can run nvidia-smi from inside the Plex container and it returns correct information but I can’t get Plex to use it and it also does not show in the Hardware transcoding device drop down. If there’s a problem with Plex then that would explain why I haven’t been able to get it to work.
