So I've been using PlexConnect for a week or so. Today I went to my AppleTV and clicked to restart it. Which is something I do every so often.
Anyway... Once it restarted it only came up with two icons... Computers & Settings. Went to settings and checked my network connection and it showed it was connected to the wireless network but not the internet. Multiple restarts and no internet...
So I had to change the DNS back to Automatic in order to get my AppleTV straightened out. So now I'm wondering what happened & why... Anyone else have this happen?

Your DNS forwarding stopped working.
They are the only 2 icons that exist on an ATV until you connect it to the internet and "activate" whatever else is applicable for the location you are in.
I suspect that your PlexConnect server (which has a DNS proxy) was not running when you rebooted your ATV. That DNS proxy is the only way that your ATV can resolve DNS entries and get any info from the web.
My PlexConnect server is running on a Mac Mini that is always on. In fact I was remotely connected to it with a Screen Sharing session at the time I was restarting my AppleTV.
