Old Thread Subscriptions

Hi there

I have a few threads I subscribed to on the old forum, since it’s been migrated I don’t seem to be able to turn them off! Does anyone have any ideas?

Are these threads where you were active and have posted yourself?

Or did you just use the subscribe feature of the old board?

Thanks for the reply.

They’re all threads that I subscribed to - e.g. The announcement thread for new Android versions. As I don’t have an android device I’d like to stop receiving the emails whenever there is a new post.

I’ve tried subscribing again, and then unsubscribe but that doesn’t seem to work

When you say ‘subscribe’, do you mean ‘bookmarking’ a thread?
Any thread can be bookmarked. If your notification preferences are suitably set, you then get email when a new posting is made in that thread.

Is the small orange star icon (which is at the top of each thread, on the right side) ‘filled’ or just ‘outlined’ in that release thread?

Ive just checked and the star is unfilled for the Android release thread.

I’ve also pressed the globe icon at the bottom of the page, and clicked the link for notification preferences. In there it looks like I have the button checked for emails for ‘Release Announcements’ does this mean I receive an email for all of the threads under release announcements? Rather than just the ones I have starred?

Yes, then that is the culprit. Untick the button to get rid of the emails.

Thank you, that explains why the stars weren’t doing what I expected!

Is there any way for me to make it more granular in terms of which release announcements I wish to receive and those that I don’t?

As I said above.
Bookmark only those release threads you are interested in.
Then edit the notification preferences to get email when bookmarked threads have a new post.

Apologies, hadn’t managed to get my head around how the new forums worked. Thank you, I understand what you mean now!
