It appears that the latest beta of Plex Server uses a naming scheme of YYYY-MM-DD.mp4 when creating optimized version of the Olympics US/NBC broadcast, which has multiple shows per day. This is likely not going to allow for a good outcome.
Can you show an example of the file name before optimizing and after?
Sure. These files were created by going through the Plex DVR interface to make a series recording and optimized versions. I had no direct hand in creating the filenames or directory names:

Yep, it’s mangling the names for sure. This is for “Optimize for TV” profile correct?
Out of curiosity could you try a different profile (perhaps any mobile) and convert 1 file and see if mangles the name as well?
For the Optimize for TV if you are changing any of the default options could you post screen shots of the settings you use.
Once I hear back from you I’ll open a trouble ticket and bring this to the attention of the devs.

Yes, this is the default “Optimize for TV” profile.
I tried the default “Optimize for Mobile” profile and got a similar filename:

I have not changed any of the default options.

I am having this issue as well and am seeing the same naming conventions as j14r. Using PMS 1.11.3.4803 and “Original Quality” profile for optimizer. As the optimizer is saving to the same file name, only one optimized version exists at a time for shows with multiple broadcasts of the same name in a single day (Olympics).
