Option not to group by Album (titles directly) + "Go to artist" to open SongArtist, not AlbumArtist

My collection does not have albums and album artists populated (by design), since I have a large collection where each song is almost from a different artist / album.

Instead, what matters most to me is Genre, and when I go into a genre, I’d like to directly see the titles.

Currently, when I go into “Album Genres” (which is the only way I figured out on the iOS plexamp app), when I click on a genre I then see a single entry [“Unknown Album”] by Various artists.

This is obviously not helpful, and I would like here to have an option to directly see the titles (rather than the grouping by album).

Additionally, when when showing a specific song title, there is an option that reads “Go to artist”. This option takes me to the album artist, not the title’s artist.

I would expect this link to take me to the song artist, and see all songs that the artist made, regardless on which album.

I’m sorry, but Plex music is very much optimized for album-based organization.

Could it be considered as feature request to have an option

  • „group by X“ (Album by default so no change to existing users) which can be changed to songartist, albumartist, genre, or „dont group“, which drives how titles are grouped (if at all)
  • setting where user can chose whether albumartist or songartist is generally used (for instance when jumping to „artist“)
