Option to disable Alexa announcing prior to playing music

I have a morning alarm Alexa routine that shuffles an ambient album. I want to be gently eased into the day so it would be great if the music wasn’t preceded by Alexa yelling what she’s about to play.

I’ve tried setting the volume to 0 and increasing it after a few seconds but this doesn’t seem to affect the announcement volume.

From what I could find, that’s a feature of Alexa itself.
You should be able to configure it to „speak less“. Supposedly, enabling „Brief Mode“ should stop it from repeating those commands.

Thanks for the reply, pal.

I’ve already got brief mode enabled and it doesn’t suppress the announcement.

I’ve been using this routine for a while and I’m fairly sure that a bit of googling, when I first set it up, suggested that it was Plex rather than Alexa controlling the alert.

Just had another google and there’s conflicting info, some suggesting it is Alexa.

One reason to suggests it’s specific to Plex is that it doesn’t announce if I change the routine to play from Spotify instead.
