I wish this was available also!!
Yes, we need this! My local media library is basically two things to me: 1) a collection of lossless music for fine listening, and 2) a museum of my carefully curated playlists from my early life. I really can’t let them go.
I want this feature.
I would very much wish that the otherwise excellent PLEX server gets a major upgrade concerning playlist handling, not only the import from m3u or xml files, but moreover bulk actions such as “delete selected playlists” and the alike.
What would be really needed is a set of functions to import, edit, (bulk) delete playlists and support for m3u (at least) import and maybe some others such as txt and xml.
I fail to understand why PLEX isn’t offering such a basic functionality.
Thus +1 from me!
+1 for m3u import
This is such a basic feature. I can not understand why it won’t be implemented! Does anyone knows a workaraound? PMS is running on Synology.
I would prefer that you not just import m3u playlists, but that the playlists stay synchronized with the m3u files. If I make a change to the m3u file, it is reflected on the server playlist.
Please add this feature. +1
Thanks
Please implement this - I have +3000 songs in playlists - I don’t want to redo it all
I’d want both the ability to import m3u playlists & synchronize any changes to/from the m3u files. We have hundreds of m3u music playlists and my husband vastly prefers using mediamonkey to create & update playlists.
Why can’t this feature be implemented? That’s why I won’t be continuing with my premium subscription because of this feature.
Please get this working!
I was so excited to see that Plex was adding Android Auto support, then I realized that the number one problem I’m having with the google app is the handling of playlists, so if Plex doesn’t support my playlists at all then it won’t be an upgrade.
Please add the ability to import m3u playlists. Thank you.
I have many playlists that I would love to import. +1 for me
Please add m3u playlist import.

It would be nice to have an option to point Plex to existing m3u playlists and use those for Plex playlists for a DLNA/UPnP music server or serving to Plex clients. Or if not to be used as Plex playlists it could be a separate feature called something like “External Playlists.” Right now I am aware of one piece of software that can make M3u available via UPnP, but I was hoping just to consolidate to use just Plex for all media serving.
I couldn’t agree more!
Please add this feature!
My husband is only willing to use MediaMonkey for playlist creation. Will be letting my Plex pass expire this year if m3u playlist support hasn’t been added by the time September rolls around.
Plex once again listen to your people! You dupe us into getting Plex Pass thinking we have a voice but no matter what it is it dosnt seem to get heard!
I doubt they even check the forums, if they did we would get a response. At least a “no” is better than basically begging for a basic feature that has been around in other players for decades. It really is pathetic and I too am about fed up with paying a plex pass monthly subscription and being able to use playlists that I made from the 90’s on.
Edit: If they don’t want this feature they can say that or at least remove music from PLEX “capability” when it is more of a handicap for your personal music library to use PLEX MUSIC.
I as well would like to import an m3u playlist. +1
