Hi.
I love OpenPHT, but one thing that bothers me is that on a Mac, it doesn’t use native full screen. Instead, the app fills a monitor, or at least tries to, as a regular window. This is ok, but there are reasons for supporting native full screen mode on the Mac. To start, by having the app use the native full screen mode, it is easier to assign OpenPHT to a Space or Desktop. This is really handy when switching between OpenPHT and other apps and using Mission Control. Also, by using the native full screen mode, it might help with resolution errors and black bars that can appear even after adjusting the resolution of OpenPHT.
Anyway, it would be great if OpenPHT supported proper full screen on the Mac. Please consider it. Thanks.

Unless I’m misunderstanding what you are saying I think that OpenPHT does use full screen on a Mac.
I switch between applications using command-Tab and have no problems whatsoever switching between other full screen applications or desktops.

Running OpenPHT on OS X Mavericks and it definitely uses native full screen mode. Plex Media Player acts like you described it though, where it creates a window, but not OpenPHT.

Sorry to say the contrary, but it doesn’t look like native full screen at all. Native full screen opens a new virtual screen, which is not the case with OpenPHT. Just look at full screen with the web app (or any html 5 web video player) to see the difference.

openpht if it opens in a window… dont click on the green window buton to go fullscreen … its command-f
there is a setting in preferances I think to have it start in full screen as well
I have no issues running openpht or PMP in fullscreen on my mac and can go between desktops just fine with them in full screen as well

please don’t change the fullscreen mode from the pht to the pmp model.
the current model is the only on that makes sense on a multi headed system. i’m using ohne head with fullscreen openpht and the other head for work.
the new model that is implemented in pmp will blank the second screen if the pmp goes fullscreen. this is completely useless rubbish.

I did some tests, and the way it is implemented is really awkward, and feels “not finished”:
- if you activate the full screen mode from the preferences or if you type Cmd-F, it goes full screen, but not on a new virtual screen (basically, the PHT window fills the current screen)

- if you start in window mode and you manage to click on the green dot, it uses the “real” native full screen mode in a virtual screen
In my opinion, Cmd-F should always activate the native mode, not fill the current screen with the PHT window as it does. I guess that an option for both modes might be present in the settings.
