Pause Bar blocks 25% of the Screen

Pause Bar blocks 25% of the Screen

Think about the old VCR times 30 years ago. When you pushed pause, expectantly the picture simply froze.

Nothing blocked the view. You could easily read or analyze everything shown on screen.

For the most basic of all functions, there was no need for additional popups of any kind, back then.

Nowadays I push Pause in PLEX, and a quarter of my screen gets blocked out.

I watch many documentaries where occasionally files with lots of text pop up, but usually show only for split seconds.

For the simple purpose of analyzing such text or pictures from top to bottom,

I have to go through quite an unnecessary and annoying sequence myself.

PLEX is forcing me to switch to another Application like VLC or Quicktime, find the exact timeframe there,

read what was previously blocked by PLEX's  pause bar, and then switch back to PLEX .

You realize where this is going, when more than one document is coming up. This is a daily procedure.

Consider another thing.

Just visualize how huge the pause bar gets when displayed on a 55" screen.

It's an area of 121 x 16,5 centimeters. Kinda big already, but wait...

When I turn on my projector, the screen doubles in size up to 110 inches.

So my pause bar increases up to 242 x 33 centimeters. Far out of proportion if you ask me.

Now that's a ridiculously huge area used up for telling me that my paused movie is paused??!!

So here is my request:

The pause bar should disappear either completely or at least after a couple of seconds.

I wonder, because on my iPad, PLEX is doing exactly what we all wish for.

Can't be that hard to decide this and make it happen. Don't let us wait many more years for this to come.
