Just aquired the Plex Lifetime Pass and want to take advantage of the premium feature - Camera upload, still the 3 dots at the top right in Camera roll is not appearing. Anyone has the same issue? I have enabled this on the server on the user setting tab. Added as well the privilege on the Android app to be able to access the phone storage. Anything else missed?
So it appears you’ll be out of luck w/ regards to that particular feature. Sorry for that… I wonder where you were still finding references to this being a premium feature of Plex?
Well i’m surpsrise since i’ve paid for PLEX Premium based on the site refference - see Share Pictures with Anyone Privately | Plex (Camera Upload being promoted as premium feature). I knew that it was retired for the free version, still kept for premium users according to the site …
I would be very dissapointed since that is the reason why I opted into PLEX Premium, to have my own photos private cloud, rather than keeping it still in the public cloud …
Well it is a dissapointment sincerly, I had waited for this moment since a long time and now one of the features that made a difference to make me take the PASS suddenly dissapeared. Luckly I took a printscreen earlier today.
The official word is in the announcement that @tom80H linked to above. The feature was discontinued and removed around 5 months ago. Clearly, there are some pages in the website that didn’t get updated.
You can contact Plex’s billing department to request a refund on your Pass, if you wish.
I will not make any refunds, still hope they will reintroduce this in a way or another. You just can’t rely on people without too much technical background to manually copy/paste their photos from all their devices to the Plex server. Photo automatic upload was and still is mandatory for such advertised service plex deliveres. For the moment will use a 3rd party tool for this gap in the process …
