This has been an issue for YEARS! What can we do to get this prioritized? What additional information do you need?
I’ve been able to replicate this issue on my Apple devices, over multiple generations and iOS versions including an iPad, iPhone, and AppleTV. My server is currently a M1 Mac Mini but I was able to replicate the issue when my server was a Intel Mac Mini.
I wasn’t able to replicate the issue when playing back a slideshow from my Windows 11 PC using Chrome. Nor could I reproduce it on my iPhone using Safari. That leads me to believe the issue is with the Plex native clients for Apple devices causing the issue and not the PMS.
Of note, the Windows version of Plex and iPhone Safari version doesn’t do the “blurry” background during the slideshow, so perhaps that’s related?
Maybe we could get a rewrite of the Plex slideshow feature for Apple devices? And at the same time get the ability to playback a slideshow handsfree like the other platforms have?
