Because one less click is one less click
I was converted to Plex over the weekend when I saw that my buddy had a better media center setup than I did, and the only difference was the software.

XBMC now looks and works like an ancient relic by comparison.

I was a bit surprised at having to drill down all the way into an individual episode in order to play it. Having to drill down into the episode provides extra information, like director and quality that don't really matter to my viewing experience. The summary on the index is sufficient.

Would it be possible to have a "quick play" overlay on the thumbnail, or next to it, of a TV episode when in the season view?

It sounds silly to be complaining about one extra tap/click, but I think this would be a minor tweak that makes a nice improvement to the user experience.

Could you also add the functionality to recently added?



Deck has it, but doesn’t let you select other devices when you hit play.

What about selecting the thumbnail always plays, but selecting the description or additional info continues to the usual UI.



I think enough people are comfortable with clicking the image to start playing the video; Youtube, Vimeo, and social networking have trained everyone. :slight_smile:

Thanks for the update. Any chance of a tweak so that I can set the destination? It defaults to in-browser. Incidentally, setting a global toggle for where to play, ala ipad app, would be very useful.
