Play Scenes From Multiple Movies In Sequence

Similar to how collections work, it would be nice if there was a way to timestamp scenes from movies or shows and put them into an almost gapless playback collection. Instead of manually playing 7 different movies with cool fight scenes in them and fast forwarding until I found the scene I wanted, I could bookmark those scenes into a scene collection titled “Best Fight Scenes” and just play that. This could also be super useful for concerts, surround sound demos, best episodes from a TV series, etc.

This idea would be pretty similar to the scripting feature offered by Kalediescape.(https://www.kaleidescape.com/2018/07/23/how-to-create-a-script/)

There are at least two relevant feature request threads for EDL support; your use case is similar to the first.

Profanity Filter

I think your best bet is currently to manually extract the scenes, and then create another Library in Plex.

Hi volts,

Thanks for the reply. I seem to have mistagged my post, I’ve now updated it for feature suggestions.

Those posts don’t seem to really be what I’m looking for, but I appreciate you looking into it.

Oh! I know they don’t answer your question - and besides, they’re both outstanding feature requests themselves. Just wanted to share those with you because they have some common elements and would require some common underlying technology.

I consider there’s an actual existing suggestion that addresses what you’re asking for (except for not including to put those clips in a playlist):

Therefore closing this as a duplicate.
