Playback controls don't work with Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro

Server Version#: 4.145.1
Player Version#: 2025.10.2 (981)
prior to the new iOS app version I was able to control playback through the keyboard.
i.e. press spacebar to play/pause, arrow buttons to rewind/fastforward.
These no longer work.

Broken for me too after the new update. 3rd gen iPad pro 12.9, the soft Apple smart keyboard that doesn’t have the touchpad.

I connected an external keyboard by USB-C and it also has the issue

Same here. Family uses the “space bar to pause” function quite a bit. Well, they used to

updated to iOS/ipadOS app version 2025.11.1 and issue persists

this seems like such a minor feature, but I assure you it’s maddening.

this should be fixed ASAP. I’ve been a long time lifetime Plex Pass subscriber and have never considered straying, but some of these recent updates have me considering and looking at Plex alternatives.

please fix the usability updates with the recent app changes ASAP.

updated to 2025.12.0 and issue remains

more info as per the “Update on the newly redesigned Plex experience rollout on mobile” post:

Your device (make and model) = Apple iPad Pro 13” M4
The device OS (and OS version) = iPadOS 18.4
Plex app version = 2025.12.0
What you were doing when the issue happened = trying to use the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro to control playback features such as spacebar to pause, arrows to go back or forward.
Whether it’s reproducible = yes, every time

Sad to note that I can also confirm this is happening on my device on the latest version. It’s infuriating to use the app on iPad.

Is this on the radar to be added back in the future?

Yep this is on our radar.
TY for pinging me directly, I missed this :+1:

Any idea where this is on the roadmap? It’s absolutely maddening.

Should be in the next build

Oh that’s great news. Looking forward to it!

Do we know when the next release is going to be that includes a fix for this? Plex is almost unusable for me after this new update because it doesn’t interact properly with the magic keyboard.:frowning:

I’m on 2025.15.0

Hopefully soon! It’s a very inconvenient bug

Plex folks, please hurry up with the release. I’m surprised that such a fundamental feature has been broken in public release for more than a month.

This is absolutely Unbearable, I’m actually considering unsubscribing and finding a different solution because to remove such a essential feature (Control Keybinds are just essential for a media player, seems crazy not to have it) Miserable

I can confirm that this is fixed in the latest iOS/iPadOS beta: v2025.16.0 (1068). I’m using an Apple keyboard on my iPadAir.
