Playback issues on tvOS and iOS

I currently have a number of DVR recordings that fail to playback on tvOS (11.2.5) and iOS. The video I have been using for testing crashes at exactly the same point on both operating systems. The video is also frozen at the start of the playback, but then starts to play normally.

However, the video plays perfectly on my Amazon Fire TV and on the Mac Plex Player. Seems like there must be a bug some where in the playback engine. Is anyone else experiencing this issue and how do I go about submitting relevant logs to diagnose the problem?

No matter what I try I can’t get it to playback. I am having to resort to moving the Fire TV between TVs which is a right pain considering I have a more than powerful Apple TV sitting under the sitting room TV!

I have found a temporary solution… on tvOS anyway, haven’t had a chance to test iOS. The issue only seems to happen if I have the quality set to ‘Play Original Quality’.

If I change it to anything else e.g. ‘Convert to 20Mbps, 1080p HD’ it plays back perfectly.

Would be nice to have the video in it’s native format though.

I can confirm this also resolved my issue of crashing on iOS, although I occasionally have to play around with quality settings until I find one that works. Anyone else experiencing this?
