I would like the ability for Plex to play the next movie or TV episode on a playlist automatically. As an example, right now when I have Thanksgiving episodes of a TV show on a playlist (S02xE06, S04xE05), when I finish S02xE06 I want the Next Episode option to be S04xE05 instead of S02xE07. It could be discernable when hitting play through the playlist vs hitting play through the TV Shows menu. The same for movies in the playlist. That would make it very easy to set up a full day playlist when company is over and just have it run through all of the Halloween movies or shows on a playlist (for instance). Playlist indicates a list to be played through 
If you make a Playlist, they should play in the order they are listed. Lots of people have done this for shows with spin offs and cross overs so they play in chronological order.
It might work for movies, but it doesn’t seem to do that for shows. Maybe there’s some noob setting I’m missing? Or does it matter the platform I’m watching on?
The platform shouldn’t matter. All playlist should pay in the order they appear, unless you hit shuffle. Are you actually playing the Playlist or clicking on a single episode within the list then hitting play?
Thanks. That’s the discrepancy, I see that now. If I play halfway through a playlist one day, and want to start with where I left off on the next day, there’s no way to start mid-way in the playlist. It’s either start at the beginning or not.
Same problem here. I cannot continue a playlist. I can either start from the beginning by pressing the watch button of the playlist or pick the next episode myself. But then I have to stop after the episode and go back to the playlist to fetch the next episode. I tried marking every episode as unwatched but that only helps me keeping track where I am. The playlist simply does not continue. I need that for shows with spin-offs that happen at the same time such as Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. I am on Android.
Thanks, you’ve stated the issue better than I initially did (I also didn’t understand it at the time). There’s no way to continue a playlist or jump into the middle of a playlist and run through it; you can only start from the beginning.
