Having moved my Mac Mini/server away from my home theater, I’ve been using the PS4 app to stream. It’s hard wired as well as the server. I find that there is a decent bit of artifact/macro blocking at times as well as the audio sounding crappy.
What are the best settings for the PS4?
Depends on the source file and client capabilities. Try playing with the video setting on the PS4 Plex app
I’d say 90% are MKV and the other 10 are mp4 or AVI files. I turned of direct play and that made no difference. The sound is still crappy. Should I turn off the stream option? Are most people getting nice looking movies via the playstation app? What about server settings?
what is your quality set to in Settings > Video? try setting them to original if they are not and see if that makes any difference.
