Please consider adding audio and video info into the movie info at the root

Hello,

I just found out that you can get some media info by selecting the movie, then clicking on the dots and going to get info. It is fantastic that the plex server has that info.

I’d love it if there was a customize option that brought that forward 1 or 2 layers - so when I browsed my movies it shows their resolution and their audio formats and even if the were HDR.

I can imagine many times e.g. new equipment or guests asking to see the difference where I’d want to select only 4K movies or Dolby Atmos movies or DTS-X movies etc.

Plex is very well suited to be a HT demo product so this feature lends itself well to HT sellers and installers. I would imagine movie studios being willing to include clips for sampling to help sell movies.

I realize this is a geeky request but I think others might enjoy this feature as well.

Just wondering what client you#re using and what part of it is still missing…
Most clients should support filtering by HDR or video resolution.
Most clients will show what kind of video/audio track a movie has on the movie’s details page (or under file information).

There’s a dedicated feature suggestion asking for better detection of certain modern audio formats (which is apparently tricky on a technical level)
