This was removed two builds ago, but in the beta notes it said it was coming back. It’s another of those 1.5 regressions that has me utterly confused.
If you’re unaware of what I’m talking about it was the removal of the Loading… screen and in its place the item info screen would load with the title and poster and then we’d have to wait until everything else on the page loaded.
This isn’t faster. It’s just shifting where the user is waiting and the result to be user looks like a broke item info screen, until everything loads. It just looks bad.
If there is no way to load these screens faster, I mean actually faster not hanging where the wait occurs, then just leave the Loading… screen so users know what’s happening. Plus, it doesn’t look like the app is broken.
Or… do what Apple’s apps do. Instead of Loading… they use the title of the item you clicked on for the “loading” screen. That at lease gives the illusion the app isn’t slow, while keeping the professional design of the app.
