4K (HEVC & EAC3 .51) .mkv files don’t playback on my Pixel 7 phone, from my video library. I get an “Unable to play media error”. 1080p .mkv do play back.
The same 4k .mkv files do playback on my iPhone/ iPad / LG TV on Chromecast (when cast from apple devices).

I don’t understand why they don’t work on the Pixel. Is there a simple answer?

I have the same problem I think. I can’t find the answer either.

actually check that. It might be the audio AC3 codec on the Android Plex player mobile app. Try disabling that under Advanced settings. It worked for my Pixel 8 Pro!
