I’m a web applications developer and we’ve been receiving a lot of feedback form spam. One of the commonalities that I’ve identified is the use of HTTP/1.0 form posts. Before I blocked it globally on all of our host servers, I decided to monitor posts to identify false positives. The Plex Webhook is the only non-abusive form posts that I’ve identified (and I can whitelist it based on payload), but it makes me wonder why it’s using HTTP/1.0 (1996) instead of 1.1 (introduced in 1997). Are there any benefits for Plex to use 1.0 instead of 1.1?
I also noticed that the webhook’s user agent is “Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/47.0.2526.106 Safari/537.36”. Could you please either use a unique user agent (preferred) or append “Plex” to the existing agent string?
