Plex app and mapping actions to AppleScript

Hello all,

after some hours of reading in this forum and searching the internet for further information I found out that it’s possible to let Plex start a AppleScript if you hit for example the button P on the keyboard (Keymaps->keyboard.xml).

But I’m curious if it’s also possible to say that if you hit P on the keyboard first a AppleScript should be executed and after that the play command should be triggered? So is it possible to use mutliple commands in one action?

Is this somehow possible while using the keymapping files (I also would like to know how to map actions while using a iPad for example-> which keymap file can/should be used)?

The reason I’m asking for this is that I would like to control my Onkyo AV at least to power on or off if necessary.

A AppleScript should check each time you try to playback a media if the Onkyo is powered on and if not the AppleScript will talk to a Perl script which will communicate with the Onkyo based on the ISCP protocol.

The Perl and the AppleScript is already running but I need a way to integrate it somehow directly in Plex.

The ultimate solution would be a complete integration of this let’s call it OnkyoRemote into the Plex app so I can really use only the iPad,iPhone,… to control Plex running on the Mac AND the Onkyo AV (maybe through some kind of plugin?).

If you have any tips, hints,… just let me know (thanks in advance!!)

Five days and 85 views later there is still no one who can say anything about that?

I’m just curious if it’s to freaky what I have asked :-)?

Has nobody tried to execute a AppleScript while using the Plex Mobile App until now or is this just not possible at the moment?
