Plex app for the Nintendo Switch 2

Famously Nintendo didn’t want to allow a Plex app for the original Nintendo Switch, but a lot has changed in 8 years and now the Nintendo Switch 2 with its bigger screen and support for a lot more display features like VRR, higher fps and HDR will become one of the most enticing screens available for those that have it.

I think it would behoove Plex to start making inroads with Nintendo about this now. There was a Hulu app and a YouTube app on the old Switch, but it’s a whole new ballgame with the Switch 2 and I think Plex consumers deserve to have you give a real concerted effort to actually get the new app on the new system this time.

It would be great to get a Plex App on Switch 2 now that it supports 4K docked and 1080p handheld. Would love it to function like mobile apps where you could download for offline playback with a plex pass.

It really isn’t Plex’s decision if Plex App will be on the Switch 2. It’s up to Nintendo.

Do we know if Plex actually attempted to get an app on Switch 1?

Would love to have Plex on Switch 2. Sure would make life easier when I travel. Fingers crossed.
