Normally I am able to download H265 video files (mp4 container) to my Android tablets (Samsung A7 and A8) and play them on roadtrips for the kids (offline). Lately, it just gives me a general playback error:

An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.
I feel this is because they are simply H265 files as the few H264 files I have downloded play fine. However, the same H265 files stream perfectly fine- only fails when downloading them for playback later.
Is this a setting in downloads Im missing? I remember back when Sync was an option, you could actually transcode a version that would playback fine (Plex would then transcode it from H265 to a copy that was H264).
Any ideas here? All help is greatly appreciated!
