Mind mentioning what you’re trying to achieve and how it isn’t working?
Hello!
I have some track1, track2, … media without MP3 tags. I added to plex music library in premium library (as a Plex Pass User). It added as Unknown artist, Unknown Album. If the MP3 have the tags, it will work.
Are you sure your library is a Plex Premium Music Library?
Plex doesn’t automatically “upgrade” the library when you get your Plex Pass membership – you’ll need to specifically create it as a Plex Medium Music Library. If you’re not exactly sure… you can check it out when editing the library and looking at its advanced settings; if it’s a Premium Music Library, there should be a section labelled Plex Premium Music Settings
.
Even within a Plex Premium Music Library it might help if you don’t dump all songs in the same folder but give it some structure.
Yes, indeed. is a Plex Premium Music Library. I only add 3 songs with unknown artist/info. This 3 have no luck. I have a Media with about 30,000 songs witch only 24,000 are in the respective folder / structure of artist/album and mp3 correct tags.
He’s not wrong. I have tons of tracks like this, where they are properly stored in an atrist > album folder structure, but sometimes missing id3 info, and Plex doesn’t match them.
I may be wrong about the technical side, but most my issues reside with Live Concerts that are not especially well documented, and that’s where I’d expect this feature to actually shine.
Plex samples my audio files.
Searches Gracenote for similar fingerprints.
(I assume it’s smart enough to narrow the search even further when residing inside an Artist folder.)
But it never finds and matches certain well known, but unlabelled songs.
Hello!
I see PLEX rely on mp3 tags and is one of his first options. The album pictures depends on MP3 image tag.
Someone knows how match the disc manually instead searching on fix match option. In movies you can put the IMDB id starting with “tt#####” and you will have the match.
What do you mean artist > album? Do you mean in a parent/child folder structure? If so, that’s not right. Without embedded data it should be “artist - album” as a single folder. If you want to group all your artists together you can do “artist” → “artist - album”.
I don’t think Gracenote has live concerts to match to. The fingerprinting is not an AI that identifies a song and matches it to the original release, it’s actually trying to find an identical/similar digital fingerprint.
This should be working for regularly released songs. If not, please provide me the names of the songs and I’ll see if we can test it, although we may need a sample of that file.
