Plex.direct:32400/identity Connection refused

Server Version#: Plex Media Server v1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8 - Debian GNU/Linux PC x86_64 - build: linux-x86_64 debian - GMT -05:00

I’m getting the following errors all together

Jan 20, 2020 18:25:13.025 [0x7fb7effff700] WARN - NAT: PMP, got an error: Not Supported by gateway.
Jan 20, 2020 18:25:13.026 [0x7fb7effff700] ERROR - Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 7
Jan 20, 2020 18:25:13.026 [0x7fb7effff700] WARN - HTTP error requesting GET https://208-105-230-34.[redacted].plex.direct:32400/identity (0, No error) (Failed to connect to 208-105-230-34.[redacted].plex.direct port 32400: Connection refused)

Does the modem/router have DNS rebinding protection enabled (most newer ones do by default). If it allows exceptions to be defined, define & allow private domain plex.direct

plex.direct appears to be a legit plex.tv domain, is that not the case?

I notice a wget to localhost:34200/identity returns some xml so i added
127.0.0.1 plex.direct

to /etc/hosts

My solution didn’t work because wget apparently ignores hosts?

odd.

I also tried putting some settings in .wgetrc but that doesn’t seem to help either (apparntly due to the method of system call to wget, if that’s what it is i doing.

I don’t think it does. Did you check the preferences in nswitch.conf?

I might have resolved this by putting the whole fqdn in hosts,… i’ll check in later

Can you restart your PMS, wait 3 minutes without doing anything, provide me that log. You can PM it to me if you don’t want to share publicly.

Sorry, i’ve been out of town. sending this to you shortly.

Got the log, but unfortunately you do not have the debug logging option enabled so there isn’t much information in your log to diagnose. Can you enable that option in your server settings, then restart PMS and provide me a new log?
