Plex DVR not finding DVB-T2 channels

I finally upgraded to a Plex Pass after finding where I had buried my Xbox One TV Tuner (Microsoft version) which is now supported in Linux.

After a small hiccough involving finding the demuxer firmware it was working fine, except Plex isn’t finding any Freeview HD channels. Even doing a long UK scan which claimed to find 414 channels, it still only showed 138 channels at the end.

I swapped it over to my desktop PC running the same OS (Fedora 27 Kernel 4.16.5-200.fc27.x86_64) and tuned everything in using Kaffeine, all the HD channels were there and working fine. What gives?

Hey there,

I’m having a similar issue, I got the firmware from here which loads fine, but Plex isn’t finding any channels. Scanning in Kaffeine works fine.

Did you ever get your issue fixed?

Still an issue for me sadly, wondering if it supports T2 on other sticks but given I have a pair of the Xbox One DVB-T2 sticks I don’t really want to get two more.

DVB-T2 tested and working perfectly on the

  • HDhomerun connect (HDHR4-2DT)
  • HDhomerun connect quatro (HDHR5-4DT)

Including HEVC video (make sure your server can transcode that, or you’ll be in a world of pain!)

That’s good to know, either of them usb connected or network tuners?

HDhomerun’s are all network tuners. (to my knowledge)

Guess it means we need to confirm or rule out if anyone running an “unsupported” DVB tuner via USB connections has DVB-T2 working yet then.

Bit of a bump, few Plex updates later and the latest kernels and still no change. Any other software interacting with the two DVB interfaces can play the HD/T2 streams, plex straight up ignores them when scanning still…

Same problem here. Plex scans all the SD channels fine but doesn’t pick up any HD. Using WinTV Dual HD USB.

It’s a very annoying workaround, but I have HD channels by setting up TvHeadEnd then using Antennas to make it look like an HDHomeRun tuner in Plex:

It’s a lot of extra work, though.

I have the same problem.

WinTV-quadHD, Linux, Plex Server Version 1.13.8.5395, Czech Republic

and NO DVB-T2 channels :-/ DVB-T channels work fine.

Thanks.
