Plex Filter - Irregular & incorrect results

Hey, so I’m trying to filter all Disney movies for the kids, easy right?
(I can only upload 1 image as a new user so I’ve uploaded all associated images here: Imgur: The magic of the Internet )

Type ‘Walt’ resulting in four options for various Walt Disney Studio metadata, but you cant multi-select :unamused: (FYI I have 72 movies with variations of Walt Disney in the Studio metadata)

Ok cool I’ll just make a custom filter. All > Custom Filter > Studio contains ‘Walt’… No matches…

Ok then, how about: Studio begins with ‘Walt’. 1136 Results… :disappointed:

And just for the fun of it: Studio ends with ‘Walt’. (this yields the best results but far from accurate) 165 results… :face_vomiting:

I can’t even use the ‘is’ function with multiple exact matches because there’s no ‘match any’ feature, just ‘match all’. This seems broken, but would love to have someone shed some light on this.

Plex Server Version 1.13.2.5154
Scanner for the library is Plex Movie Scanner
Agent for the Library is The Movie Database

Bump anyone?

Which server OS?

Is this limited to the Studiio field or are you experiencing these false results from other fields and other comparison methods also?

How many entries with an empty Studio field do you have?

Try to use the ExportTools plugin/channel and check all found results within a single Excel table on why their content and similarities to your found behavior of the server… this could enhance big fixing process - if there is any.

Server is Linux 4.14.49-unRAID x86_64
Plex is in a linuxserver container
https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/plex/

Actor, Year, Country, Genre all seem to work. I haven’t checked every search field, but Studio definitely seems broken. Empty genre search field shows all 1260 movies. On a side note the library actually contains 1489 movies which correctly shows on other clients, but that’s a different story.

I’m installing the ExportTools and will report what the csv says once it’s running

I can confirm, that the following user defined filters do not show the expected results.

I have 14 Disney movies in a library, shown by the pre-set “Studio” filter which shows one movie for “Walt Disney” studio, 11 for “Walt Disney Pictures” and 2 for “Walt Disney Productions”.

But when I set a user-defined “Studio” filter for the same library, I get no results for “studio contains ‘Walt’”, I get 1502 results for “Studio begins with ‘Walt’”… not a single combination for Studio shows the correct results.

If I search for “Walt Disney” instead, “studio contains” shows 1 result, the same as “studio is” shows, which actually is the one “Walt Disney” film, not one of the “Walt Disney Pictures/Productions” studio…

I am on QNAP PMS v1.13.5.5291
