What is the “Plex Media Player” and where do I get it? The Getting Started page says to download the app from the Plex Downloads page (https://plex.tv/downloads), but that page does not show a Plex Media Player. The other articles for this app make it sound like it is a dedicated app, separate from the other apps.
Confusing 
PMP (Plex Media Player) is currently only available to Plex Pass holders. It is a pre-release software.
If you do not have a Plex Pass, it will not be available to you, and you will instead be directed to the Plex Home Theater application.

If you read the ‘Tip’ in the green box at the top of the link you included to ‘Getting Started’ if clearly states that it requires a PlexPass.
