Plex Media Server app opens then crashes - won't launch 0S 10.14.6

Server Version#: 1.17.0.1709-982421575

Hi, thank you in advance for any help offered.

I can’t start up the PMS app as it instantly crashes on launch. I’ve tried opening in terminal and get the below error message;

Error: Unable to set up server: sqlite3_statement_backend::prepare: database disk image is malformed for SQL: PRAGMA cache_size=2000 (N4soci10soci_errorE)

Is there anything I can do other than completely remove and re-install?

Thanks again

Cheers,

Aaron

Open up a terminal and adjust the logging settings for PMS
along with stopping a few optional services not needed to boot up.
These are described in Advanced Hidden Server Settings

defaults write com.plexapp.plexmediaserver LogVerbose -boolean FALSE
defaults write com.plexapp.plexmediaserver logDebug -boolean TRUE
defaults write com.plexapp.plexmediaserver DlnaEnabled -boolean FALSE
defaults write com.plexapp.plexmediaserver EnableIPv6 -boolean FALSE
defaults write com.plexapp.plexmediaserver GdmEnabled -boolean FALSE

Then use the terminal if you like to start PMS again. Let’s guess it crashes.
Go ahead and gather it’s logs for us. You’ll want to zip up the entire folder,
~/Library/Logs/Plex Media Server/
and upload the zip file so people can check your debug logs.

If the logs are full of SQLITE3 errors, and mention corrupt database or malformed
like you pasted above, you might have to
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201100678-repair-a-corrupt-database/
or at least check it for corruption, which is safe because you make a copy of your
database and check the copy.

Let us know how it goes.
