I have recently developed an issue i have never seen in my years using plex. My server becomes disconnected and will simply buffer, when i check my start tray on my pc the icon is gone. i have to re-open it and then my plex server will work, This will last maybe 10 minutes and i have to repeat.
Im using windows (PC), I have a VPN with Split tunneling set up. Nothing has changed on my pc, no settings, no new software. It makes it difficult for me to use my server, impossible for my friends. I have re-installed newer software (Plex server) still no help.
Any thoughts?

I have been using Plex for years. Nothing has changed on my system to my knowledge recently. I use a VPN with split tunneling, I am running Windows 11. I have rebooted, re-downloaded the plex server file, looked online, posted asked for help etc… no replies and/or no answers i can find.
In the past few days my Plex will disconnect after about 10-15 minutes, and then if i check my start tray the icon is no longer there. I have even tried an older version of Plex download. Im wondering if its an upgrade issue? Very frustrating, i have had no issues before and now you get a max of about 10 minutes on my server and it disconnects. I have to click on my short cut, re-open the plex server the reload my internet page and it will return, for about 10 more minutes. Can anyone please help?

Sorry… logs just show that the server is going down but no indication why it’s happening.
Your server seems to be busy doing some background jobs (scanning for new media, running credit detections…) – though, it seems to be different activities before every crash.
Can you try to disable all (automatic/scheduled) scans and maintenance jobs to see if that’s making any difference?
It seems there’s some trouble connecting to plex’s backend (via plex.direct) and some truly bad file naming / folder organization – but that appears to be unrelated.
I will look into the scans, but honestly unless if it is something that just happened nothing has changed or been updated or installed to my knowledge…
This cannot be a coincidence after a dozen or so crashes its always the server is live for about ten minutes before crashing give or take a few minutes. Something is kicking me…
