Took the new build and ran a test, migrating my large movie library (4k+) to the new agent. This is what I done …
- generated a nfo file for every movie with just uniqueid, title, originaltitle, plot, tagline and genre.
- created a custom agent with Plex NFO Movie as primary and then Plex Local Media and Plex Movie as additional providers (in that order).
- changed the movie library now to use my custom agent rather than the plex one
- scanned the library and then force refreshed the library
- clean bundles and optimise database to rebuild any search indexes
Overall it went well. All nfo data is loaded into plex. All movies remained matched and the played/unwatched count remained the same. Checking the played status of a movie takes me to the dashboard as normal and it correctly shows the number of times a movie has been played. All great.
The one oddity I noticed is when selecting a cast member which takes me to discovery credits. So, using hamnet again as my example if I select Jessie Buckley from this movie
… the resulting page in discovery credits only displays the credits for the shows and not the movies which have been migrated.
Could this be due to the fact I’m in a semi migrated state where the tv library has not yet migrated to the new nfo system ? Don’t think it should matter but its the only thing I can think off.
BTW… may try tv shows tomorrow but I’ve still some work to do on my side as I’ve 43k episodes to generate nfo’s for ![]()
EDIT: in case its helpful here is the xml from the one after switching to nfo and the one beforehand.
